In the past three days, Skip and I have journeyed back towards Minnesota through the country roads of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. We’ve camped at small city park campgrounds which is a new experience for us. These city parks are first-come-first-serve. For those of you who know me well, you know that winging it without a reservation is not my normal approach; I prefer a plan with the certainty of a campsite. Skip likes the flexibility of deciding when we’ve driven far enough. It’s a good stretch for me, requiring me to trust in God’s provision. Plus, a price of $15 / night including 50 amp electric is hard to beat! Tomorrow, we’ll be home.
We have been so blessed to travel the southwest in the past two and a half months. As we sit in our camper trying to cool off from the 90 degree heatwave, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible adventures we’ve experienced. I took a bit of time to look back on our photos… hundreds of photos… to enjoy the beauty we were privileged to experience. May these pictures bring a moment or two of joy to your day!

Thank you for sharing our 2022 Southwest adventures with us. We hope you’ve vicariously experienced great joy and beauty.
We’ll be traveling again in 2023, serving with SOWER teams in Texas. We might even take a trip this fall. We’ll let you know so you can come along for the ride!
Fantastic! Travel well. I was just thinking today that you must be almost home. Its quite hot here! Welcome back. We leave on Friday for a couple of months! We’ll wave.
I just wrote on the wrong blog!!! Again – canโt believe you guys are almost home! Itโs been a great journey for you to share with us. Thank you! Canโt wait for your next one! Absolutely stunning pictures.
jealous…in a good way ๐
I have so enjoyed seeing your beautiful pictures! I probably mentioned this to you before, but Emmett and I saw a number of the Utah parks a few years ago, and it was a glorious trip for us, too! You obviously saw a lot more parks than we did, and it was fascinating to see all the variety through the photos you shared. Isn’t God’s creativity astounding?! We do look forward to having you back home, though, and hope to see you soon in the choir loft again, Anne! Find some good air conditioning when you get home. Rejoicing with you on a safe and memorable trip.
What stunning pictures of God’s creation, especially the fish and the people holding them! Can’t help but think that if this is this good, what will the new heaven the new earth be like?
Thanks, Karen! Can’t wait for the new heaven and new earth – but I’m still hoping for at least one grand baby first ๐
